Women and heart disease is a serious health matter and a woman’s number one killer is heart disease,6 times even higher ,than the risk of breast cancer. What are some health tips for us women when it comes to taking care of our heart health and reducing such risks of death?

Raw fruits and raw vegetables prove to be a heart healthy boost for us and some suggestions to add to our menus include oranges , broccoli and chile peppers with their rich content of Vitamin C for our protection against free radicals. These foods are great to prevent diabetes and heart disease.

Add some raw garlic, onions to your foods. Also add asparagus and soy to get the folate’s need to prevent and reverse your high blood pressure. Now let’s add some raw carrots, the dark leafy green, some winter squash from the farmers markets and some of their home-grown squash to help lower our risk of coronary heart disease in us women. Don’t forget about the shitake mushrooms and those little kiwi to lower our cholesterol and control our blood pressure.

Women and heart disease need to eat foods with the Omega-3 also so lets add some freshly ground flaxseed to our cereals and top our salads with it also. For our meats lets eat fresh salmon steamed over brown rice and include some walnuts also. These foods will help us lower our bad cholesterol levels and increase the good cholesterol levels, keep that blood pressure down to proper levels and Omega-3 is also an important nutrient to aid our bodies in reducing the plaque building in our arteries.

Don’t forget to keep fibers in the diet for our women and heart disease issues. We need to eat beans of all kinds, lots of the berries, the different brans, and whole grains also.

Potassium is very important for women and heart disease also, so lets keep eating such things as bananas, sweet potatoes-again from the farmers markets- and those fresh cantaloupe that they have raised for us. Potassium rich foods help us rid our bodies of all the sodiums and will help treat that hypertension that is the ‘silent killer’ of some many women.

Take charge! Women and heart disease is an issue we all need to learn more about for that life we truly desire and enjoy:

Symptoms of heart disease are something everyone needs to be concerned with of all ages. The usual symptoms you see in the movies are typical of a man having an heart attack but for women it is very different so we need to educate ourselves and know the symptoms of heart disease for all.

For women, the lifetime risk of dying of cardiovascular disease is almost one in three. Fortunately, most cardiovascular disease in women is preventable. Kathleen W. McNicholas, MD, warns women that its time to stop thinking about heart disease as a mans disease. She speaks with the authority of both a doctor and a patient. A seasoned surgeon in her mid-50s, McNicholas had open-heart surgery herself at Christiana Hospital in 2003. “Two thirds of women and one third of doctors dont recognize .

Heart disease is the leading cause of death here in the United States for women and men. With proper diet of lots of raw fruits and raw vegetables we can prevent, reverse and even get rid of heart disease. We need to exercise daily of at least walking at a good pace for at least 30 minutes. We need to focus on preventing heart disease, rather than taking drugs to cover up the basic facts of what is causing the symptoms of our heart disease.

Lots of our health issues can be or lead us to having symptoms of heart disease such as smoking, do we have diabetes, do we have high blood pressure, do we have shortness of breathe quite a bit, do we live sedentary live styles, do we eat lots of processed foods, do we drink lots of sugar-loaded drinks, do we eat lots of snack and junk foods on a regular basis? These are all symptoms of leading to possible heart disease and we can take an aggressive approach and be healthier by changing things in our lives.
