Should You Super Size It?

Super Size It?

Kids have soccer, football, dance, theatre, tryouts, school events
…and this is just the kids, what are your special activities outside
of the home? Are you tired of being so busy?

You might say you are ready to slow down however the people
who market and analyze what you will be eating next know you
are not really going to slow down and based their livelihoods on
just that fact. Medical journals are full of facts ranging from obese
children to children in extreme danger from eating too much fast
food. What does this have to do with being busy, well read on.
BMI or Body Mass Index is an estimate of the ration of fat to
muscle and bone based on your weight and height. An easy way
to find you BMI is to take the weight of the person to the height
of the person-The BMI is a reliable indicator of totally body fat,
according to the National Institute of Health.

Underweight people will have a BMI less than 18.5, where as
someone with what’s considered a Normal weight will have a
BMI 18.5 to 24.9. You would be considered Overweight if your
BMI reaches between 25 to 29.9, and you are considered Obese
if your BMI is 30 or greater. When the BMI reaches 40 and
rising you are at great risk. (Please see a doctor for help)!
When a person is overweight or has a BMI reaching 30 or higher
the risk diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, stroke, and some
cancers increases. Deaths from obesity-related causes in the
U.S. are now the second-leading cause of death after smoking,
accounting for more than 16% of all deaths. A person who is
looking to reduce their BMI might want to start looking at the
labels on their food. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA),
by law have to provide consumer information on the food that
is sold in stores. On the package somewhere by law is a
breakdown of serving size and nutrients such as fat, protein &
carbohydrates and the percentages that represent the daily
Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for a 2000-Calorie
diet.

The national measurements account like this: 18.5-
Underweight, 18.6-24.9- Average weight, 25-29.9-Overweight,
30 and rising, you should consult a doctor as your blood
pressure is probably too high along with other factors that
might be you in the risk category for heart disease, stroke,
diabetes, and hypertension. The cause of death in the U.S.
continues to rise and we continue to gain unwarranted weight.

Getting your weight under control can be done in small simple
steps such as an exercise program which could include
walking, swimming, running, aerobics, yoga, and so many
other activities that increase the heart muscle which then
increases blood flow which then moves those fat deposits out
of the body.

If you want to go the distance in any activity you are involved
in you need to feed the body- NO, I’m not advocating you now
super size anything, I’m talking about adding protein in a
natural way, nuts, fruits, berries, and organic chicken will add
to the body the natural, healthy enzymes that fuel the body for
long periods of time, where as a product coated with
preservatives and sugar will give you maybe an instant surge
of energy but in the long run you will be depleted quicker and
the body will crash. Take care of your body today and it will
take care of you for many years to come!
