Cardiovascular tips for today include using only olive oil that is labeled ‘extra virgin’. This means is has been cold-pressed from freshly harvested olives and there are no chemicals used in doing this.

Did You know that the olive tree dates back to Bible times in the Mediterranean countries, where most of the crop is used for our olive oils. Some of those countries include Spain, Italy and Greece and cardiovascular disease is at a minimum for those people living there.

A tablespoon of olive is approximately 120 calories with 14 grams of fat in it. Olive oil contains like 77% mono saturated fatty acids, 14% saturated fatty acids, with 9% polyunsaturated fatty acids, vegetable mucilage and the ever important Vitamin E. The fat in olive oils is very beneficial for keeping our blood cholesterol levels. Guess what? it is very easy to digest. It protects our digestive tract also. Olive oil can be used as a healer of our wounds, soften our skin and used on our scalps as a massage oil for loss of hair.

Olive oil when taken by mouth helps with our digestive systems and that in turn, lubricates our mucous membranes to prevent colds and flu and other bacteria entering our bodies. The Vitamin E in our olive oils is also an antioxidant. All those monounsaturated fatty acids in our olive oils mean it will help us lower our LDL (the bad) cholesterol without affecting our good cholesterol (HDL) and it also is great for keeping our triglyceride levels properly.

Try using olive oil as much as you can to replace things such as other vegetables oils and butter. Use olive oil in your salad dressings with a splash of organic apple cider vinegar or fresh lemon juice. Saute your stir-fy vegetables in olive oils so you can keep your cardiovascular health and the immune system healthy.

Using olive oil can also help reduce weight as this is a great oil for our bodies health matters.
