What does salt have to do with high blood pressure?

Salt, which is sodium chloride, has long been linked to high blood pressure. And high blood pressure, or hypertension, which afflicts nearly one in three Americans, is a leading cause of cardiovascular disease.

Does this make you want to leave the salt shaker alone on the table? Sodium is one of the major ingredients contribution to hypertension and high blood pressure.

Salt isn’t all the culprit, lack of exercise-the taking of care of our health matters, sometimes heredity is the cause of high blood pressure also.

The lower our intakes of salt the lower our blood pressure seems to be. Ordinary table salt is the worst in my opinion as it’s refined and not in its natural state. Buy the gray sea salt in your health foods as its not exposed to all kinds of chemical washings and leeching of the natural ingredients.

The lowering of salt will bring down most high blood pressures. This will also slash heart disease, high blood pressures as our health matters. We can slash our cardiovascular disease by up to 30% by really researching labels and cutting by on the sodium content of our foods. Add more raw fruits and more raw vegetables to every meal and use them for snacks as well.

Be sure and read labels on all purchased foods, especially the junk foods with their high sugar contents and high sodium contents, as all that sodium content and sugars does have an effect on high blood pressure.
