Childhood Obesity and High Blood pressure is a serious health matter for children and their parents.
Parents are responsible for what kinds of foods are put into the grocery cart and offered to them at our homes and if we pack lunches for them to go to school. Parents be mindful of the snack foods you purchase and please purchase the ones that are raw vegetables and also the raw fruits. Most grocery outlets carry the ones already prepared for you and your children, both in vegetable offerings and fruits as well.
Some children are using foods to cope with their emotions and problems that they are experiencing at school or at home. They have a tendency to use foods for these reasons, just like us adults. Foods with lots of fats, sodium, sugars cause weight gain as we adults know. Sugar loaded soft drinks and even the diet ones are loaded with sodium and salt and of course, additives.
Inactivity is another cause of obesity which can lead to high Blood pressure problems in our children as well. Keep them away from television as much as possible and their video games that they sit and do for hours. Get them involved in sports, dance, music, and other programs for children. Help them set goals for themselves and see how much happier and trim they become.
